Saturday Workshops for Kids

*I am not compensated in any way to promote activities in this post.  This post is based on my views and opinions.

Our family loves both Home Depot and Lowe's for fostering workmanship in children by hosting hands on workshops and the opportunity for them to earn badges/pins and certificates of achievement.

Love Note Holder ~ Lowe's Build & Grow

Here is a picture of craft ~

My boys working on their note holders at the workshop.  They loved how it their project came with a stick of chalk, so on the way home they had a blast playing tic-tac-toe with each other.  Unfortunately, mommy got to have an asthma attack while driving!  (No worries, living in Arkansas I've learned to keep my emergency inhaler on me at all times).  But not only did the boys have a great time, their completed workshop projects I grade for their Life Skills course!  Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day!

My boys were particularly excited to make...The Claw!

Home Depot Craft Project for Kids...this time they built Race Cars and the amazing staff even put together a Race Track for the kids to actually race their projects with other kiddos!  2 Thumbs WAY Up Home Depot ~ we had a great time at this event!  =)

Bentonville, Arkansas Public Library is Going to the Birds!
~You can receive a FREE copy of Arkansas Backyard Birds by calling Arkansas Game & Fish Commission at (800) 364-4263 or go to www.agfc.com  {They sponsor a great FREE program for children 12 years old and younger to learn identification of birds and receive a special certificate and pin/level.  I will post pictures of ours that my boys are working on as soon as they make their achievements!}

~Also, if your in the NWA area - join us at the Bentonville, AR Library at 2 p.m. Joan Reynolds of NWA Audubon Society will be there.  Families can learn how to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count, a Citizen Science Project.  Kids will make bird feeders to attract birds to their own backyards!

If you have any great suggestions for weekend family activities ~ please share!  Thanks in advance!
