Oklahoma Dance Film Festival

  A True Dance Festival!

This group has such a unique style unlike any other 'poetry in motion' with music, than I have ever seen before!  This performing traveling group is based from Tulsa, Oklahoma.  I'm a huge fan of live performances, plays, music, movement, and art.  By using Screendance, this group uses the language of dance and the media of film to create a new stage for performance and a new genre of media.  I'm so glad I got to take my oldest son Malachi to see Oklahoma Dance Film Festival perform live.  We then spent the whole evening talking about how you can use your body as an expression of art.

You must watch this 1 minute video they filmed about positive and negative space.  An incredible work of art.

So last night I took him to see them live to an

OUT OF SIGHT
2014 Oklahoma Dance Film Festival
Friday, June 13, 2014

Out of Sight is a collection of short dance films from
the 2013 Oklahoma Dance Film Festival, with live
performance by dancers from Tulsa Modern Movement
and The Bell House.  Both video and live dance play with
visual concepts of sight: revealing and concealing.
positive and negative space, presence and perspective.

Our evening could not have been better.  The temperature was cool, and we got to sit under a spectacle ceiling of stars and a full moon.

I hope you get a chance to expand your vision of art in motion too and enjoyed this Treat by Tanya.
